21-Day Fast, Day 10

A man and his wife were traveling when they decided to visit the church where they had been members years ago. As they were enjoying the worship service the man noticed a lady that he thought he recognized from years ago. He whispered to his wife-DO YOU REMEMBER HER? When the worship service was over the man could not wait to speak with the Pastor. He went to the pastor and asked him, is that Ms. Jones? The pastor replied, it certainly is. The man responded; I cannot believe that is her. I remember WAY back when she was……and she was doing….. and that is when the pastor abruptly interrupted the man. The pastor said,” I did not know her WAY back then and I do not care to hear about her past. But let me tell you what I do know about her. I remember the night that she came to the altar weeping and accepted JESUS as her LORD and Saviour and was immediately filled with the HOLY Spirit.”  She is one of our most faithful church members, she teaches a Sunday school class, she sings with our Praise & Worship Team, and she is always the first one to pray for others in the altar. It was at this point that the man dropped his head and just walked away realizing that he was about to bring up someone’s past that GOD had WASHED AWAY!!

 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!

Pray:

Heavenly Father, help us to be like this pastor and refuse to listen to disparaging remarks about others and give us friends that refuse to listen to such remarks about. Help us to live by: Proverbs 18:21-- Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

And James 3: 5-6-- Even so the tongue is a little member and boasted great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. Amen
