21-Day Fast, Day 11

When you cannot do anything now but trust Him.

“…It was so bad we did not think we were going to make it. We felt like we had been sent to death row, that it was all over for us. As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally—not a bad idea since he is the God who raises the dead! And he did it, rescued us from certain doom. And he’ll do it again, rescuing us as many times as we need rescuing” 2 Corinthians 1:8-10, Message Bible.

The Apostle Paul was in a dire situation, and he felt he wouldn’t make it through it, and there was nothing he could do. If the Lord did not do it, it would not get done. At that moment, He found himself forced to depend totally on God, and he was rescued.

You may find yourself like Paul. You are in a tough situation, and you honestly wonder if you are going to make it. God eliminated all your options, and it is sobering when you find you are limited in your own rescue and control. You have come to the end of yourself, and God says as your loving Father –now you must trust Me. You cannot do anything now–but be still and trust Me.

It is a beautiful place to be when He’s your only choice. You are in the best position to find out who God is, the One who can raise the dead! You are about to encounter the One that can bring life and makes all things new. God will bring to pass His good and perfect will for those that put their trust in Him. Great growth and rescue always come from great dependency.

Pray:

Father, I praise you. I cannot trust anyone but you right now. I am forced to look only to you, and that is the best place for me. I ask for refreshed strength and wisdom. I turn from my plan and will, and I believe you for your good and perfect will for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
